MOST
MONEY IS NOT MANAGED
"Buy and Hold"
is NOT an investment
strategy
Many "home grown" portfolios that I have seen over the
years
are really the result of "It seemed good at the time"
and nothing more.
A "buy and hold" portfolio is the result of
working very hard to research and make initial choices,
then failing to go back (at least annually)
to go through the whole process again.
The conclusion might be to retain the investment,
or it might be to sell it and shift into something else.
But
without actively reviewing the investments,
the initial decision merely stands untested as situations
change,
and that is dangerous for achieving
objectives.
That would be like trying to drive cross-country
without checking progress along the way.
